Dhol Waj Gaya - Band Baj Gaya
Life is extremely simple until you decide to get hitched with men in Olive green. Like any other indian girl I dreamt a fancy romantic honeymoon and all the glitterati you watch in Karan Johar's movie. Mine went like " A jill came tumbling after kind of honeymoon in reality".
When we meet men in Olive Green it feels like those fairy tales we heard in our childhood where you vision your knight riding on a black horse and lifting you in his arms and suddenly scene changes, Reality becomes more like Your Olive green Knight cell phone rings around 6 a.m. and his buddy gets him his hot cup of coffee and he jumps off the bed. You rush and it feels what happened that he suddenly jumped and the rush hour begins.
When you get married with an Army Guy , its one of the most beautiful moment in your life because your man is no ordinary Man. He is the Man, THE ONE WHO DOESN'T DRIVE BMW BUT A TANK AND CARRIES AK-47. When we were in courtship it all seemed so calm beautiful and a never ending fairytale but in reality it was HOURS OF WAITING, LDR - LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP, WAITING FOR CALL and speaking till 5 a.m. This all looks very difficult but when it's your man in his uniform it's all what matters. One look and your soul is at peace.
Unlike other couples, Army Officers and their wives are absolutely different. Not to mention many a times we become laughing stock and subject to weird questions
Friends : How do you manage to stay away from your husband ?
Don't you crave for S** after marriage ?
Do you think he is the right one for you , your not able to work etc ?
All these questions and pitiful eyes are an army wives common encounters. After few days when you fail to explain and persuade other fellow mates about your life you start thinking about smart answers.
Sometimes you may also listen to some very concerned aunt saying he might be cheating on you as real man can never stay away from his wife. So you know these sentences might ring the bell. And this is the moment when your inner self tolerance is tested and put to grill.
So you think about others comments and you tighten up your soul and realise that who so ever says whatsoever I love my man and that is what matters to me. Getting married in our world famous Indian culture in not less dramatic with all those dhol dhamaka and dhoom dhadakka wedding. Personally I froze on my wedding day and all my dreams about wedding got their sweet A** kicked.
Basically I am a north indian girl and my husband is a south Indian guy, cherry on top was he is the Indian Army so Life was rocking Tadka Marr Ke. All my families and friends presumptions went for the toss in front of my husbands support.
One thing is for sure, If you are married with an army officer you are his queen, And I mean this. But here comes the spice and sugar in my life. Right after 1 month of our wedding I had to leave for Kashmir as Raakesh was posted in Bhadarwah for his RR posting.
Now when your husband is in RR you need to have some Jigara to go through this period of time in your life. RR is the most crucial and tough period of any army officers life and the most challenging for his wife. Separation is killing and right after marriage it becomes hell. It's real nightmare for anybody in love. So here I was newlywed staying away from my husband right after my marriage.
But god has blessed me with the most amazing In- Laws and my parents and siblings support during this period of my life was impeccable. Thanks to my friends as well few of them really kept me going. After 5 months of distance my mind was getting furious and I was wondering what's happening in my life.
I still remember crying in my bathroom full of wet eyes in shower thinking like I'm Titanic,cause I was sinking. Like Titanic I was everything , here I was busy with 9-5 Shootings stage shows ,modelling, Corporate Training job where I worked on sundays , cause it was so hectic. And here I was after marriage , all alone by myself , having Dual M.A in History and Mass Communication. After working in Doordarshan and Dainik Bhaskar, After working with a renowned corporate Trainer in Pune , here I was helpless, waiting for my husbands call whole day and thinking I'm sinking.
While taking shower I could taste my tears and I still remember I said this in shower, God I have to do something now and I'm gonna do it now. NO MATTER WHAT. And thats when I took a call and started working on what can I do.
It was Ganesh Chaturthi 2013 when after preparing for apx 6 months I spread the word out about my Training company where I started taking sessions for Individuals and organisations. I knew I was talented all I wanted next was somebody recognising it. And here starts my journey of my venture PS-TRAININGS.

2 oct 2013 I conducted my first public seminar MAP OF SUCCESS and since then It was never looking back.
I started taking sessions exhaustively,worked insane and I found my peace. I started anchoring in DD again. It was this moment when I shook my head, straightened my loins and grabbed my life. I was finally loving my life, travelling,learning,gaining knowledge and taking charge of the situation.
And hands down kudos to Raakesh, he supported me in creating my brand in and out. I was feeling blessed. This is my story regarding my HAPPILY EVER AFTER. When you have goals and aim in life and when god blesses you with an amazing supporting husband , nothing can stop you.
Today after three years I am a certified Trainer, and an ISHMA awardee. My venture is having small wings but it's flying.
When I meet young girls in my seminar and when they ask me regarding getting married with an army man and choosing a career. I explain them what's my story.
This is my Fairy tale and this is my Happily Ever After.
If you are an army wife, or a girlfriend to an army Officer do think about yourself and your metal babe,cause this life is short , I wish you make it large. It's very easy to complain and give up and say what can I do but life is about what can you do .
